Consumer Onboarding
Summary: Consumer onboarding should explain the experience, request only necessary information, and provide meaningful choice before participation.
#Experience principles
- State who operates the experience.
- Explain the immediate customer value.
- Present material terms before commitment.
- Request only information needed for the selected journey.
- Provide accessible consent and preference controls where required.
- Explain how to obtain support or exercise privacy rights.
#Status
Pilot: Consumer onboarding flows vary by deployment, merchant, channel, and jurisdiction. A documented concept does not imply availability in every environment.
#Trust and transparency
Customers should be able to distinguish merchant communications from network-level communications. The following should be clear and discoverable:
- Rewards.
- Eligibility.
- Expiry.
- Redemption conditions.
Important: Participation must not depend on hidden data sharing or misleading consent.
#Next steps
